Brunswick offers to a variety of canned seafood products, and although canning and cooking methods vary from one product to another, they must all pass strict quality control measures before they earn the privilege of wearing the Brunswick label. Brunswick has three types of product categories:

Brunswick Tuna

Brunswick Tuna are satisfying protein food, supplying a number of essential nutrients and other "good for you" properties. They contain many of the essential amino acid nutrients that are important in a healthy diet. Tuna, are sources of Omega-3 essential fatty acids, so they're smart eating! And, the good news... Brunswick tuna contain no preservatives, no artificial flavors, and no artificial colors.

Tuna patties - perfect on home-style buns

2 cans Brunswick Tuna, any flavour, drained 1tsp / 5ml fresh lime juice
2 eggs
1 medium onion finely chopped
1/4 cup chopped Coriander leaves
1 tsp / 5ml pepper sauce
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tbsp / 30ml vegetable oil.

Crush Brunswick tuna in a mixing bowl. Add all other ingredients expect oil, mix gently. Heat oil in a frying pan, spoon mixture into oil by tablespoon and pan fry until golden. Turn and cook for a few minutes longer, drain and serve. Makes eight patties. Total preparation time: 15 - 30 minutes.

Brunswick Mackerel

There's a lot more under the lid of your favourite Brunswick brand of canned Mackerel than you might think. Today's busy, on-the-go lifestyle means that we often don't get all the exercise and nutritious food we need. This may lead to health issues down the road that can adversely affect our quality of life. The good news is that not only does Brunswick Mackerel taste great, it's good for you too!

Brunswick canned Mackerel is a satisfying protein food supplying a number of essential nutrients and other "good for you" properties. It contains many of the essential amino acid nutrients important in a healthy diet.

  • Brunswick Mackerel in natural oil   425g is a good source of Calcium, excellent source of protein and Vitamin D.
  • It contains 0.8g of Omega-3 fatty acids per serving.
  • Brunswick Mackerel in tomato sauce 425g is a good source of protein, Calcium and Vitamin D.
  • It contains 0.5g of Omega-3 fatty acids per serving.

Brunswick Coconut Curried Mackerel:

One canned Brunswick Mackerel in natural oil
1/2 lime
2tbsp / 30ml vegetable oil
One onion, chopped
Two cloves garlic, minced
One hot pepper, seeded and chopped
One tbsp curry powder
1/4 cup / 50ml water
1/2 cup / 125ml coconut milk
Two tbsp chopped Coriander leaves

Drain Brunswick Mackerel in Natural Oil, remove bones, and squeeze on lime juice. Set aside. Heat oil in sauté pan; add onion, garlic and hot pepper and sauté until fragrant. Meanwhile, combine curry powder with water. Add to pot and cook until most of the water has evaporated. Add Brunswick Mackerel and break into 1 inch pieces while stirring, making sure all pieces are covered in curry. Add coconut milk and stir, cover and simmer for about five minutes more, adding a little water to prevent sticking. Garnish with Coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.

Brunswick Sardines

Sardine is a generic term applied to various kinds of small, saltwater fish which are prepared, cooked and packed in a special. Cold-water fish, like the sardines used by Brunswick, contain the high amounts of heart healthy fatty acids. Brunswick Sardines are a good source of calcium. Calcium helps build and maintain healthy bones and teeth. It is also required for muscle contraction, blood clotting and nerve function. It may also help in preventing osteoporosis. Brunswick Sardines contain no preservatives or additives. They also do not contain artificial flavors or colors, hydrogenated fats, hydrolyzed plant proteins and tropical oils. Sardines meet and exceed rigorous quality control standards using globally accepted principles in compliance with CFIA and HACCP. Eating two cans of Brunswick Sardines a week provides between 2 and 3 grams of the Omega-3 you need to promote good health.

Brunswick Sardine Omelette

One can Brunswick Sardines any flavour, drained
Four eggs
Half cup / 100ml skim milk
Half onion, minced
Half sweet pepper minced
Freshly grounded black pepper
Vegetable oil for frying

In a bowl, whip milk and eggs until blended.  Heat oil in frying pan. Add egg mixture to pan and reduce heat. Top with onion, sweet pepper, Brunswick Sardines and pepper.  Cook to desired doneness. Fold in half. Recipe can be halved. Serves two and total preparation time: 15minutes.
